LEADING TOWARDS REVIVAL
The first verse was revealed concerning the Jews and the hypocrites, because when the Messenger of Allah (saw) arrived in Medina, they said: “We have been experiencing a decrease in our fruits and crops ever since this man and his companions came to us.” They attributed the decrease and drought, calling it evil (saiyi’a), to the Messenger (saw)..
